What is Scrum?
Scrum.org is an agile framework that assists developers in working with complex adaptive problems, which allows them to deliver productive, creative and high-quality products. Compared to other frameworks, Scrum is easy to understand… but difficult to master.
Scrum is one of the various framework options for implementing Agile. Unlike its counterparts, Scrum has unique characteristics, which include role-based tracking and iteration durations that are more defined.
Scrum works by following iterations of fixed lengths for product development. These iterations are called sprints and typically last between 2 weeks and 1 month.
Scrum vs. Agile
Trying to decide between Scrum and Agile is like a comparison of apples and fruit. Scrum is one of the most frequently used ways to execute the Agile process framework, so just like apples are a type of fruit the two are entwined.
About the Scrum Master Certification Course
This 2-day certification course will help participants gain a better understanding of Scrum. This course will be helpful for all Scrum Masters (both currently in the role and those looking to take up the position) as well as project managers, directors of PMO, and agile project managers.
The course also stands as an update to the Ken Schwaber Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) course from 2002. For those new to Scrum, this course also includes framework, mechanics and roles, but the course goes further to teach techniques to use Scrum to increase productivity and value as well as optimize cost of ownership.
The format of the course will include learning by instruction, team-based activities and having participants challenge themselves to think quickly so that they’ll be better workers when they’re back at their desks.
